One Year On… A message from our Director, Joe Flavin

Today marks one year since we closed our doors at the first lockdown.

Like so many others, it has been a rollercoaster ride – we had no idea we would be closed for this long!

We really miss the buzz of the auditorium, that unmistakable excitement from live performance and the feeling as the lights start to go down…

Thanks to our incredible team and our brilliant funders at Corby Borough Council and Arts Council England, we have been able to continue to deliver community projects, including Core Calls, We Are Family and our artist-led workshops for The Imagination Station, alongside delivering our regular youth groups Core Create, Sparks and Core Comedians over Zoom.

There have been many challenges to overcome this year, but we are extremely grateful to have received funding from the Government’s 1.57bn cultural recovery fund which has allowed us to weather the storm.

Whilst the road ahead might still be rocky, we remain positive that we can bounce back stronger than ever with great quality theatre, music, comedy and arts activities for families, young people, communities and local artists.

It now feels like we are at a turning point and we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

More than ever, we will have a crucial role to play, bringing people together for amazing shared experiences and breathing life back into Corby town centre.

From all of us at The Core at Corby Cube – thank you for your unwavering support. In a year of separation, it has meant so much to us!

We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors again.
