After over a year of closure, we are thrilled to announce that we will be reopening our doors for live shows from Friday 11 June.
Assuming the continuing success of the government’s roadmap to ease lockdown restrictions, we will reopen for a handful of summer shows, including interactive murder mystery Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote, Pecho Mama’s visceral fringe hit Medea Electronica, family friendly Comedy Club 4 Kids and Spontaneous Potter Kidz and a one-off Elvis and Neil Diamond extravaganza from Corby legend Fisher Stevens, with a full autumn and winter programme of shows to follow in the coming months.
All shows will be performed within the government guidelines as the restrictions are gradually eased. In preparation for the reopening, we have received the #SeeItSafely accreditation from UK Theatre and SOLT and the We’re Good To Go mark from Visit England, ensuring the highest level of COVID safety precautions to keep audiences, artists and staff safe at all times. You can read more about all the measures in place to keep them safe at www.thecorecorby.com/covid-safety
On reopening, our Director Joe Flavin, said:
“It has been a year full of ups and downs for everyone. We are finally starting to emerge out the other side of the Covid restrictions and are looking forward to proceeding with caution to inject some much needed entertainment, fun and vibrancy into what has been a mundane day-to-day for quite some time.
The team of staff and volunteers are chomping at the bit to get going again and we can’t wait to welcome our first audience members back through the doors of the theatre.”
Despite our temporary closure, for the past year our creative team has been anything but dormant. Our engagement programme has been able to continue throughout the pandemic thanks to a successful DCMS Cultural Recovery Grant, with a variety of weekly drama groups for children and a string of creative community projects. For our most recent innovation, The Imagination Station, we commissioned 30 artists across the UK to create bespoke workshops on their craft and deliver them virtually for young people. All of the bite-size workshops, plus additional shows and resources, can be viewed at www.thecorecorby.com/the-imagination-station
We are actively seeking local businesses to partner with us and support the work of the creative team particularly. Business owners interested in discussing the benefits of a partnership with The Core at Corby Cube can get in touch with [email protected] for an informal chat.
Booking for all of our upcoming shows is available on our website or via the Box Office on 01536 470470 Tuesday-Friday 10.30 – 5.30pm and Saturday 10am – 3pm.
