The Core at Corby Cube is currently an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation (NPO). What this means is that our vision and mission is aligned with that of Arts Council England (ACE) and our creative activities, initiatives and programming are delivered as part of a wider strategy for the development of arts and culture in England. We receive regular funding from ACE as well as brilliant local support from North Northamptonshire Council.
We are now in the process of applying to Arts Council England to retain our NPO status in 2023 through to 2026 and as we start to lay out our plans for the future, we want to hear from you!
Throughout the month of March, we will be holding consultation sessions with members of the public and interested stakeholders in The Core. Over a cuppa and a biscuit, we will be talking through some of our past programming and initiatives and laying out some ideas for the future. We want you to help us with this process by sharing your experiences and ideas and helping us to plan forward for the next 4 years and beyond.
Anybody can take part in these sessions and the conversation but each will have a particular focus as follows:
Young People aged 12 – 25 – Tuesday 15th March 5pm ( Zoom Wednesday 30th March 5pm) – We want ideas from young people, the fresh, the bold and the imaginative. Whether you have been to The Core before or have never been but would like to help us shape our future then please come to this session.
Early Years/Children and Families – Thursday 24th March 10am & 12pm We would love to hear from members of the public with young families who use the Core for activities or to see our shows for young audiences. We’d also like to hear from anybody working in early years or primary school settings. (Please note that this session will have free arts activities for little ones so bring them along).
Community and Diversity – Tuesday 29th March 7pm & Friday 1st April 2pm (Zoom Friday 1st April 6.30pm) We want to hear from all members of the community about what shows they enjoy seeing on our stages and what they would like to see more of in the future. If there is nothing that you like on our stages then we particularly want to hear from you!!! We’d also like to know of any other activity that you’d like to see taking place at The Core. We really want to hear from people from diverse communities across North Northants and those members of the community with lived experience of a disability.
Artists – Tuesday 5th April – 5pm (Zoom Thursday 7th April 12pm ) We’d love to hear from artists who have been involved with The Core in the past- maybe you’ve ran a workshop, maybe you’ve worked with us in schools or pitched your project ideas to us. If you’ve never done anything with us before, but are working in the Corby area, that’s great too, we would love to get your ideas for how we work with and support artists and art making in the future.
There will be an in-person and an online version of the artists session and the community session. The children and young people sessions are in person at our fully accessible Lab space at The Core. Sessions are planned to last for 1 hour each. There will be a hot drink and biscuits available before the in-person sessions.
If you can’t make a session but would still like to contribute then please fill out the relevant survey form below.
