The National Champion Band of Great Britain and the National Champion Youth Band of Great Britain appear together for an evening of entertainment.
Formed over 130 years ago, the Brighouse & Rastrick Band are one of the most popular and successful brass bands in the country and have won The National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain at the Royal Albert Hall three times in the last decade. In 1977 they reached no. 2 in the charts with their recording of The Floral Dance, which has since become a permanent feature of the band’s programme, and in recent years they have recorded with The Unthanks and Liza Pullman and appeared at Chris Evans’ Car-Fest.
Joining them will be Youth Brass 2000. Formed in 1989 Youth Brass 2000 is an independent youth brass band based in the East Midlands of England. They won for the 7th year in a row The British Open Youth Championships and are for the 4th consecutive year The National Champion Youth Band of Great Britain. 2018 looks to be another exciting year especially as they represent England for the 4th year at the 2018 European Youth Championships.
